I found it very interesting a chance encounter with a man who was looking for "treasures" with his metal detector on Barceloneta Beach. The detector transmits an electromagnetic field from the search coil into the ground. Any metal objects (treasure) within the electromagnetic field will become energized and retransmit an electromagnetic field of their own. This type of search is an act of attentive listening.
