Linz, Austria 2022.

“EAR” is a project born from the desire to explore simplicity and return to basics as a response or reaction to our hyper-gearized reality. This proliferation of gadgets and/or technologies with which we have become related sometimes creates an erroneous notion of progress, when in reality it makes us dependent on these tools for the development of our creativity, its creation and presentation in society.

In the case of so-called "sound art", the fundamental tool is already installed in our body as standard (for those of us who are lucky enough to hear). The ear is the fundamental tool in our practice, and yet, in our search for listening (listening different from hearing), we use intermediary tools that perhaps actually listen or capture the same thing as us, but without the added filters of our brain.

During my stay in the Austrian city of Linz, to which I was invited to carry out an artistic residency, I was interested in carrying out SOUND WALKS, especially due to the presence of the river in the city (The Danube). But I wanted to HEAR equipment-free... without recording, just feeling.

From here came the idea of "EAR", as an ode to this natural instrument. Simply an ear that is listening to its surroundings and discovering a new place.
